Old Woman Frying Eggs
Oil on canvas (1618) by Diego Velázquez, depicting an old woman cooking eggs while a boy brings a melon and a flask of wine. One of his earliest surviving works, showing his prodigious skill in depicting natural materials. Held at the Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh.
