Kangra School — Ramayana Series (c. 1775–1820)
Series of illustrated Ramayana folios produced at the Kangra court under Maharaja Sansar Chand II (r. 1775–1823), c. 1775–1820. Opaque watercolor and gold on paper. Represents the highest achievement of Kangra Pahari miniature painting: luminous colour, soft facial modelling, and lyrical landscape settings. Folios dispersed across major collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, National Museum New Delhi, and private collections.

Patronage Context
Produced under the patronage of Maharaja Sansar Chand II of Kangra (r. 1775–1823), the greatest patron of the Kangra school. He assembled a large atelier of painters who produced Ramayana, Gita Govinda, Bhagavata Purana, and Nala-Damayanti series.
