Private residence (1935-1939) designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Bear Run, Mill Run, Pennsylvania. Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Built over a waterfall as reinforced concrete cantilevered terraces. AIA 'Building of the Century' (1991). UNESCO World Heritage Site (2019).
Scholarly Significance
Fallingwater is the most celebrated private residence of the 20th century. It embodies Organic Architecture's integration of building and landscape.
