Inopportune: Stage One

Large-scale installation by Cai Guo-Qiang (2004). Nine Ford Taurus cars are suspended from the ceiling in a rotating sequence, each studded with light tubes that strobe to simulate an explosion frozen in time. First exhibited at MASS MoCA, North Adams, Massachusetts.
