Dark Mirror

Animated video work by Carlos Amorales, 2005. An animated film using silhouette imagery from Amorales's Liquid Archive database — featuring lucha libre wrestlers, mythological creatures, and popular culture figures in a dreamlike confrontational sequence. The film was shown in a large-scale installation environment. Dark Mirror exemplifies Amorales's method of building complex visual narratives from his graphic image bank, blending Mexican popular culture with existential and mythological themes.
